The Quality Methods Association was established in 1991 by members of the former Taguchi Club who wished to broaden their interests. The QMA is a constituted, not for profit, Association run by an elected Board of Member representatives. It has now developed into an efficient practical User Group. Members network through Interactive Seminars and Workshop Events held throughout the UK. These meetings address a wide range of subjects, which are usually suggested by members and encourage the sharing of knowledge and best practice related to all aspects of Business Improvement and Quality Management.

The QMA aims to present the most up to date ideas in order to stimulate thought and promote new improvement processes within member organisations. It does this through its members website, the newsletter, "tell me” and the events that it organises. If you would like to receive membership information and a complimentary copy of "tell me”, please contact us with your name and postal address and we will be happy to send them.

The QMA is no longer active.

Although the QMA has been very successful in the past in bringing its members together around well attended and well received events, the landscape in which it operates has changed drastically over the last few years. It has become increasingly difficult to get members to participate in the management of the organisation and often difficult to gather sufficient attendance for events to take place. Alternative modes of events have been attempted but, although well received by those attending, have had only scarce attendance.

The situation has now reached the point where it is no longer possible for the QMA to operate and the only conclusion which can be drawn is that the Association has served its purpose and that it is time for it to go.

It is with regret that the Board of Management of the QMA has therefore voted, during its Annual General Meeting of 5 December 2006, to wind up the Association, which will officially be terminated on 31st March 2007.
